Northern Lights Safari & Fjord tour - 7 days

Northern Lights tour package & the Norway in a Nutshell fjord trip, with stays in Oslo, the Arctic town of Tromso & the picturesque coastal city of Bergen, Dog sledding & Northern Lights trips, Fjord cruise on the narrow Naeroyfjord & the famous Flam Railway. Day 1 - Overnight in Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo. Overnight at a centrally located hotel or at an airport hotel at your choice. Spend 1 night in Oslo

Some sights in Oslo:

The Royal Palace, the Opera house, the Akershus Fortress, the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the City Hall, the Viking ship Museum, the Edvard Munch Museum & the Astrup Fearnley museum of contemporary art

Day 2 - Flight Oslo-Tromso

Flight to the Arctic city of Tromso, appr. 2 hours. You can take the airport bus or a taxi (appr 20 mins).
Spend 3 nights in Tromso at a centrally located hotel.

 

Tromso is ideally located in the middle of the Northern Lights zone, surrounded by beautiful Arctic scenery, mountain peaks, islands & fjords

 

Optional: You can add nights & adventurous activities in Tromso during the booking process

Day 3 - Northern Lights trip & Dog sledding

You will be picked up in the centre of Tromso for an adventurous Northern lights dog sledding trip in the Tamok valley. Due to the geographical location the climate is drier and colder than in Tromso, thus offering a maximum chance of seeing the amazing Northern Lights.

 

 

The visit includes dog sledding activity, a traditional, hot meal and social time by the open fire in the Sami tent. Also included: insulated body suit, warm shoes, gloves, headwear & head lamp. English speaking guide & transfers

Day 4 - Northern Lights visit

Optional activities during the day before you will be picked up for the Northern Lights visit with a traditional, warm meal in a lavvo (Sami tent). The trip takes you away from the city lights, hence offering a greater experience of the Aurora.

Day 5 - Flight Tromso-Bergen

Flight from Tromso via Oslo to the Hanseatic, coastal town of Bergen. In Bergen you can take the Airport bus or a 25 mins taxi trip to the centre. Check in at a centrally located hotel.

Day 6 - Bergen, full day at leisure

Spend the day to explore picturesque Bergen - see the old Bryggen Wharf, the Fish market, take the Funicular railroad to the top of mount Floyen- offering you a marvelous view of the city and the surrounding fjords & islands. Make sure to visit the authentic area with tiny, wooden houses and narrow streets at the hillside

Day 7 - Bergen-Oslo

The "Norway in a Nutshell"* tour

Fjord cruise: Morning train from Bergen to Voss with connecting coach to the Sognefjord, then a 2 hour amazing Fjord cruise to Flam village. You will see the inner branches of the Sognefjord; the narrow Naeroyfjord & the scenic Aurlandsfjord.

 

Flam Railway: In Flam you board the unforgettable Flam Railway for a ride to Myrdal mountain station, connecting with the Bergensbanen mountain train across the Hardangervidda National Park to Oslo.

Late evening arrival to Oslo. Spend 1 night in Oslo.
