Dec 22 - Arrival to Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo, check in at the centrally located Hotel Bristol or similar. Spend 1 night in Oslo

The Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Opera House, the Viking Ship Museum, Edvard Munch Museum, Akershus Fortress, the City Hall & the Astrup Fearnely museum of Contemporary art

Dec 23 - Train Oslo-Geilo

Late morning train from Oslo (3,5 hs). Christmas gathering with “gløgg & pepperkaker” in the library at Dr Holm's Hotel.
The children decorate the Christmas tree. Afterwards enjoy a 3-course dinner.

Dec 24 - Christmas celebration

Morning on your own to relax, take a stroll in the small town centre or perhaps visit the ski slopes (ski rental available).
You can join the Christmas service in the local church in the afternoon.
In the late afternoon, the Christmas gospel will be read in the library, followed by a traditional Christmas Buffet (smart dress only). All guests are invited to walk around the Christmas tree singing Christmas carols after dinner.

Coffee and cakes will be served while you wait for Father Christmas to visit ..................

Dec 25 - Horse Sleigh ride

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and spend the day at leisure.
Enjoy a Horse Sleigh ride in the early evening. You will sit under warm duvets and sheep pelts. You will be charmed by the sounds of the sleighbells jingling in accompaniment to the "clipety-clop" of the horses.            Dinner at the hotel.

Dec 26- Train Geilo-Bergen

Late morning train from Geilo to Bergen: enjoy the scenic Bergen line across the snow covered Hardangervidda National Park, with the highest point at an altitude of 1222 ms above sea level (Finse station). Spend 2 nights at a centrally located hotel in Bergen

Dec 27 - Day excursion

with Fjord Cruise & Flam Railway

 

Enjoy the Norway in a Nutshell® trip,
starting with morning train to Voss village, where a connecting coach takes you through beautiful scenery to the tiny Gudvangen fjord village.

 

In Gudvangen you board a ferry for a 2 hour Fjord cruise on the narrow UNESCO Naeroyfjord & the scenic Aurlandsfjord, taking you to the Flam village. In Flam you continue on the spectacular Flam Railway, taking you through the most dramatic scenery via the beautiful Flam valley to Myrdal mountain station, where you join the train back to Bergen.

 

The trip finishes after breakfast on Dec 28
