Day 1 - Overnight in Bergen

Individual arrival and check in to a centrally located hotel.

Explore this picturesque coastal town, with the old Bryggen wharf (UNESCO World Heritage site), the Fish market, the Funicular to mount Floyen, the Aquarium, the picturesque areas of authentic, wooden houses & narrow streets at the Nordnes peninsula & the hillside behind the Funicular station

Day 2 - Bergen-Balestrand

Fjord cruise: Morning express boat cruise along the scenic coast north of Bergen, passing through narrow straits, islands, summer houses and tiny villages. Then into the majestic Sognefjord, cruising on the fjord to the scenic fjord village of Balestrand,

 

Spend 2 nights at the beautifully located historic Kvikne's hotel, room with fjord view. Excellent buffet dinner included.

Day 3 - Full day in Balestrand

Enjoy the beautiful scenery, the fjord view, the mountains, a relaxing walk, the clean air and the tranquility.

 

Some sights in Balestrand:

The tiny, English church, the typical Swiss style wooden villas, the scenic Cultural trail, the tiny aquarium, Art galleries. Excellent, well marked trails. Guided tours available

Day 4 - Balestrand-Oslo

Fjord cruise, Flam Railway & Bergen line: Enjoy the express steamer cruise to the inner parts of the Sognefjord and the fjord village of Flam, where you change to the famous Flam Railway, taking you through the scenic Flam valley with rivers and waterfalls, to the mountain station of Myrdal.

 

Change to the main Bergen line, taking you across the Hardangervidda mountain plateau and National Park to Oslo, with late evening arrival.

 

Spend 1 night in Oslo.
