Midnight Sun & Fjords - 10 nights

Day 1 - Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo, the city of the Nobel Peace Prize. Individual check in at a centrally located hotel.

Day 2 - Flight Oslo-Tromso

Flight to Tromso and individual arrival to a centrally located 4* hotel. Airport bus directly to the hotel. Enjoy the bright evening at leisure in the city.

Day 3 - Arctic Gourmet Dinner

Choose from our extensive program of optional day time activities before you enter Emma's famous, tiny gourmet restaurant in the centre of Tromso, where you will enjoy her 5 courses gourmet dinner based on excellent local products.

Day 4 - Midnight sun round trip

Arctic scenery, Culture & the way of living
Time to explore the city before you will be picked up at your hotel in the evening for a 4 hour midnight sun/white night round trip, including a meal with local food. Your guide Ivar Haugen will show you the most beautiful Arctic scenery; the fjords, the islands and the Barents Sea. You will see hundreds of seabirds and maybe the white tailed sea eagle and some reindeers. He will also tell you about the local history and the Arctic way of living.

Day 5 - Flight Tromso-Bergen

Flight to Bergen via Oslo.

Individual arrival at a centrally located 4* hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 6 - Bergen

Enjoy a full day to explore the sights of Bergen - including a 3 hour city tour, with visits to Troldhaugen (the composer Edvard Grieg's home) and the picturesque Fantoft Stave Church. 

Some sights in Bergen:

The old Bryggen wharf (UNESCO World Heritage site), the Fish market, the Funicular to mount Floyen, the Aquarium, the picturesque areas of authentic, wooden houses & narrow streets (at the Nordnes peninsula & the hillside behind the Funicular station)

Day 7 - Bergen-Balestrand

Fjord cruise: Enjoy the express steamer cruise along the scenic coast line to the Sognefjord and the beautiful fjord village of Balestrand, passing through narrow straits, islands & skerries and tiny fjord villages.

Spend 2 nights at the beautifully located historic Kvikne's hotel, room with fjord view. Excellent buffet dinner included.

The tiny, English church, the typical Swiss style wooden villas, the scenic Cultural trail, the tiny aquarium, Art galleries

Day 8 - Fjaerlandsfjord & Glacier excursion

Ferry cruise to the scenic Fjaerlandsfjord branch, with connecting bus to the glacier arms of the Jostedal glacier and a visit to the interesting Glacier Museum in Fjaerland.

Day 9 - Balestrand-Flam Railway-Oslo

Enjoy the express steamer cruise to the inner parts of the Sognefjord and the fjord village of Flam, where you change to the famous Flam Railway, taking you through the scenic Flam valley with rivers and waterfalls, to the mountain station of Myrdal.

 

Change to the main Bergen line across the Hardangervidda mountain plateau and National Park to Oslo, with late evening arrival.

Spend 2 nights in Oslo

Day 10 - Oslo - the main sights

Guided city sightseeing by coach in Oslo, 4 hours,

including the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Holmenkollen Ski Jump & the Viking Ships. Late morning departure.
