Hurtigruten offers a fascinating mixture of first-class passenger vessels and local working ships. Hurtigruten has been part of the country’s very lifeline for over a century. Calling at 34 ports, most never visited by commercial cruise liners, the ships deliver freight, post and passengers to remote communities, some of which are home to just a few hundred people. Sailing along this beautiful coastline, through magical fjords to enchanted islands, you will enjoy a genuine, friendly and unpretentious voyage which is truly Norwegian.

Day 1 - Bergen, evening departureCheck-in from 18:00. We recommend early arrival to Bergen, allowing you time to explore the charming Hanseatic town before the cruise departure at 20:00 (22:30 winter season).

You can leave your luggage at the Hurtigruten terminal, a short walk from the city centre.

Day 2 - Alesund-Geirangerfjord*Morning arrival to the Art Nouveau town of Alesund. Enjoy a full day cruise to the famous Geirangerfjord (*June 02 to Sept 01), with the "Seven Sisters" waterfalls. During the winter season you can enjoy 3 hours at leisure in Alesund, in September and October a full day cruise to Hjorundfjord. |
Day 3 - Trondheim-RorvikThrough the wide Trondheim fjord to the picturesque, historic city of Trondheim. Spend 4 hours at leisure in the city, or take an optional sightseeing tour. |
Day 4 - Bodo-Lofoten IslandsCrossing the Arctic Circle to Bodo, with a few hours to explore the city. Then across the Vestfjord to the spectacular Lofoten Islands with the famous Lofotwall rock formation. Calls at the fishing villages of Stamsund & Svolvaer. |
Day 5 - Vesteralen Islands-TromsoInto a magnificent archipelago to the north, then on to the university town of Tromso, also known as the 'Paris of the North'. Spend 4 hours at leisure in the city.

Day 6 - Honningsvag-North CapeMain port Honningsvag, then cruise along Finnmark's barren coast, passing the Svaerholdtklubben Bird Colony and the unbelievable rock formation of Finnkjerkja. From Honningsvag you can join an optional excursion to the North Cape plateau. |
Day 7 - Batsfjord-KirkenesAround the north and east coast of the barren Finnmark coast before the ship continues to the south-east into the Bokfjord and on to Kirkenes, close to the Russian border and the journey's turning point. |
Day 7 - Kirkenes-BerlevagOptional activities in Kirkenes, like riverboat safari to the Russian border. Then cruise to Vardo, Norway's easternmost town, with the enchanting Vardohus Fortress. Cruise along the Varanger peninsula before a late evening arrival at Batsfjord. |
Day 8 - Mehamn-TromsoCruise via Hammerfest, across Soroysund to Oksfjord. The course is set via Lopphavet open sea and the ship finds quiet waters towards Skjervoy and the Arctic town of Tromso. |
Day 9 - Tromso-StamsundThrough narrow Risoyrenna channel after leaving Harstad. Stokmarknes with the Norwegian Coastal Voyage Museum then on to Vesteralen and the spectacular Lofoten islands. Depending on the weather conditions, the ship will take a detour to the breathtaking, narrow Trollfjord (summer season) |
Day 10 - Helgeland-RorvikThe ship sails along the beautiful and fabled Helgeland Coast, with the impressive Seven Sisters mountain range and the Vega islands. Make sure to get up early for the call at Ornes, surrounded by a magnificent scenery with views of the Svartisen glacier |
Day 11 - Trondheim-AlesundThe tiny historic island of Munkholmen leads the way to the historic town of Trondheim, with picturesque areas of tiny, wooden houses (Bakklandet) and Norway's only cathedral. Then passing the beautiful island of Hitra and the open sea of Hustadvika before approaching the city of Molde. |
Day 12 - Alesund-BergenMagnificent West Norway scenery with mouths of fjords and a lush, beautiful archipelago, including the island kingdom of Oygarden, before the ship approaches Bergen. Arrival to Bergen at 14:30
