Northern Lights Christmas Cruise - 8 nights

Day 1 - Overnight in Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo. Check in at the centrally located, elegant Bristol hotel or similar.

You can take the Airport bus directly to the hotel from the Oslo Gardermoen airport.


Start date in Oslo with sailing on the following ship:

Day 2 - Train Oslo-Trondheim

Enjoy a scenic train ride across the snow covered Dovrefjell Mountain Plateau & National Park to the historic city of Trondheim. Check in at the centrally located 4* Scandic Nidelven or similar

Day 3 - Christmas cruise start

Board the authentic Hurtigruten ship before noon and enjoy the Northern Lights Christmas cruise to the Arctic town of Kirkenes - "The top of the World", close to the Russian border

Day 4 - Cruise arrival to Bodo

Crossing the Arctic Circle. Arrival to Bodo at noon, with time to visit the city.  


Departure from Bodo in the afternoon, then crossing the Vest Fjord heading towards the Lofoten Islands, with calls at Svolvaer and Stamsund in the evening.

Day 5 - Dog sledding in Tromso

Passing beautiful Arctic scenery before the arrival to Tromso at 14:15. You will be picked up at the pier for the trip to Tromso Wilderness centre, located at the beautiful Arctic Kvaloya island outside Tromso, where you will be joining the exciting dog sledding trip. Warm clothes included

Day 6 - North Cape excursion

Enjoy the exotic North Cape land excursion from Honningsvag, then cruise along Finnmark's barren coast, passing the Svaerholdtklubben Bird Colony and the unbelievable rock formation of Finnkjerkja

Day 7 - Cruise finish/Kirkenes

Cruise along the Finnmark coast before the ship continues to the south-east into the Bokfjord and on to Kirkenes. Disembark late morning.

Northern Lights trip
Join the Aurora Express for an exciting hunt for the Northern Lights. You will be picked up at your hotel in the evening. A knowledgeable guide will check the latest magnetic forecast and decide whether to take you by minibus towards the Russian border or in the opposite direction towards the Finnish border, in search of the Northern Lights.


Optional: During the tour booking process you can add snowmobile safari, king crab fishing & overnight stay at Kirkenes Snow hotel

Day 8 - Flight to Oslo

Finish your stay at "the top of Europe" and join the flight southwards to Oslo. Spend the night at the Bristol hotel (or similar) in the centre of Oslo.
