Day 1 - Arrival to Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo, the city of the Nobel Peace Prize and the capital of Norway. Oslo is located by the idyllic Oslofjord

 

Check in at a centrally located hotel.

Day 2 - Oslo-Bodo-Lofoten Islands 

Morning flight to Bodo, then cruise across the Vestfjord to the spectacular Lofoten Islands, on one of the authentic Hurtigruten ships.

Approaching the Lofoten Islands you will see the impressive Lofoten wall rock formation. Disembark in tiny Stamsund - an important fishing village in Lofoten.

Day 3 - Crab safari

Experience a crab safari by Rib boat from Stamsund.
After dressing up, you head out to sea in search for the crab pots that have been set out along the shore the day before. You will assist in taking up the pots. There are good chances to get a glimpse of the wildlife at sea on this trip.
After returning you will be served todays fish or shell soup (depending on season) as well as the crab that you have caught.

Day 4 - Evening cruise departure

A full day at leisure at the Lofoten Islands before you board the Hurtigruten ship in the evening for a really unforgettable cruise to Bergen along the amazing Norwegian coast. 
Spend 3 nights on board.

 

All meals are included during the cruise; buffet breakfast, buffet lunch & 3 course dinner (food only)

Day 5 - Cruise Helgeland coast

Make sure to get up early to see the remarkable scenery surrounding the tiny Ornes village before the ship sails along the beautiful and dramatic Helgeland Coast with views of the Svartisen glacier & the Seven Sisters mountains

Upon departing the village of Bronnoysund the ship will pass the famous Torghatten mountain peak, with the spectacular hole - one of nature's wonders.

Day 6 - Cruise & Trondheim

Morning arrival to the historic city of Trondheim. Enjoy a few hours at leisure in the city before the ship sails through the Trondheim fjord, passing the beautiful island of Hitra and the open sea of Hustadvika before approaching the city of Molde

Day 7 - Cruise arrival to Bergen

Passing through magnificent West Norway scenery with small fjords, narrow passages and a beautiful archipelago, including the island kingdom of Oygarden, before the ship arrives to Bergen at 14:30. Check in at a centrally located hotel in Bergen.

Optional: add a 3 hour fjord cruise from Bergen to Mostraumen & an additional night in Bergen

Some sights in Bergen:

The old Bryggen wharf, the Fish market, the Funicular to mount Floyen, the Aquarium & the composer Edvard Grieg's home Troldhaugen. Bergen has several picturesque areas with authentic, wooden houses and narrow streets, like the Nordnes peninsula & the hillside around the Funicular station

Day 8 - Bergen-Sognefjord-Oslo

Sognefjord cruise: Enjoy the scenic Fjord cruise  by express steamer through narrow straits and scenic local fjords to the main Sognefjord with calls at tiny fjord villages, then on to the Aurlandsfjord branch and the fjord village of Flam.

 

Flam Railway & Bergen line: Board the famous Flam Railway, taking you through the spectacular Flam valley with rivers and waterfalls to the mountain station of Myrdal. Change to the Bergen line, taking you across the beautiful Hardangervidda mountain plateau and National Park, and then through the Hallingdal valley to Oslo.  Late evening arrival. Spend 1 night in Oslo
