Snowmobile Safari & Wilderness Cabin stay

This overnight package is connected to the Northern Lights trip with dog sledding or reindeer sledding, you will stay in the camp after the activity and go on the snowmobile safari after breakfast the following day.
The overnight stay in the camp replaces one night at the hotel in Tromso, and does not add nights to the tour.

Overnight stay in Camp Tamok:
An overnight stay enhances your chances of seeing the Northern Lights, and the guides will inform you if the aurora appears in the nighttime. The camp offers an overnight stay in rooms for two persons, in a shared timber cabin (with 6 rooms) or a private Aurora Chalet. Breakfast is included. There is a separate building with toilets, showers and a changing room.

Snowmobile:
You need no previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all you need is normal physical condition. The excursion begins with a thorough safety introduction. The trail has a distance of 15 km each way, 30 km in total. The starting point is at 250 m above sea level, and the guide brings you up to 875 m. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with opportunity to switch places during the trip. You need to bring your driver’s license.

Transfer from the centre of Tromso by bus/minibus.
Insulated body suit, boots, gloves, headwear and helmet
English-speaking guide
Overnight stay in a double/twin room in the Wilderness timber cabin or Aurora Chalet w/breakfast
Make sure to wear warm undergarments (wool or fleece is recommended)
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, warm and windproof clothing (special clothing will be provided). 
Age restrictions: Min. 7 years old and accompanied by an adult.
Notices: Guests under 18 and guests without a driving license are not allowed to drive the snowmobiles. 
Difficulty level: Average physical condition – involves physical activity on uneven surface and/or steep terrain. Not suitable if you have limited mobility.

Reindeer Sledge

Late morning departure. You will be picked up in the centre of Tromso, with transfer through beautiful Arctic scenery to where the reindeer and sleds are waiting. The guide will provide you with warm clothing. You will then go on an amazing trip with the reindeers; the old, traditional Sami way of transport.

After the trip you can try the ancient art of lasso-throwing, and listen to songs and stories of the Sami people. A hot meal of traditional food served in a Lavvo (Sami tent) rounds off the day.

Duration: Appr 4 hrs 
Make sure to wear warm winter clothing & shoes
The trip includes:
Transfers, reindeer sledge trip, traditional meal, warm overalls

Snowshoe trip

Late morning departure. You will be picked up in the centre of Tromso, with transfer through beautiful Arctic scenery to the Tromso Wilderness Centre, located at the Kvaloya island outside Tromso. The guide will provide you with warm clothing. You will then go on an amazing guided trip with showshoes to enjoy the winter scenery. The mountains offer great views of the surrounding areas of Tromso and Balsfjord, and maybe you will see some arctic wildlife!

If the weather is good, hot drinks are served en route, otherwise you can relax by the fire in the lavvo back at the centre.

Duration: Appr 4 hrs 
Make sure to wear warm winter gloves & hat, sunglasses. The trip requires good physical condition. Minimum age 10 years

Hunting the Northern Lights at sea:
Enjoy this relaxing and comfortable way of hunting the Northern Lights onboard the catamaran MS Havcruise, which takes you from the centre of Tromso to the darkness outside of the city lights, with views of Tromso and the surrounding islands. The catamaran takes only 12 passengers, and as the Norwegian crew lives onboard the vessel during the winter season, you will definitely feel "at home"! Starts from the centrally located pier in Tromso

You will be picked up in the centre of Tromso in the afternoon for the transfer to the Tamok Valley, due to its geographical location the climate is drier and colder than in Tromso, thus offering a maximum chance of seeing the Northern lights.
You will then go on an amazing trip with the reindeers; the old, traditional Sami way of transport. You will drive in pairs, one sled for each reindeer. You can also try lasso-throwing, and you will learn about Sami culture and history.
After the sledge trip you will be served a traditional Sami meal.
