Day 1 - Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo and check in at the centrally located, classic Hotel Bristol

Day 2 - Oslo-Balestrand

Bergen line & Flam Railway
The scenic Bergen mountain train from Oslo across the Hardangervidda mountain plateau to Myrdal, where you change to the famous Flam Railway, taking you through the beautiful Flam valley with rivers and waterfalls.

 

Fjord cruise
In Flam you board the express steamer for a spectacular fjord cruise from Flam on the Aurlandsfjord branch & the main Sognefjord to the fjord village of Balestrand. Spend 2 nights in Balestrand at the beautifully located Kvikne's hotel. Grand buffet dinner included both evenings.

Day 3 - Day excursion

Fjaerlandsfjord cruises & Glacier visit
Fjord cruise to the Fjaerlandsfjord branch with connecting bus to the glacier arms of the Jostedal glacier. Return to Balestrand by ferry. Please note that it is not possible to walk on the glaciers- just sightseeing

Day 4 - Balestrand-Bergen

Express steamer fjord cruise on the outer parts of the Sognefjord and along the scenic coast, taking you directly to the heart of Bergen, with the old Bryggen wharf - a UNESCO World Heritage site. 2 nights in Bergen at a centrally located hotel

Day 5 - Bergen

Enjoy the day at leisure in Bergen:

see the famous Fish market, the old Bryggen wharf, enjoy the marvelous view from mount Floyen. Optional: add a 3 hour city sightseeing, incl Troldhaugen/Edvard Grieg's home and the picturesque Stave Church.

Day 6 - Bergen-Hardangerfjord/Lofthus

Bus to Norheimsund, with connecting fjord cruise on the picturesque Hardangerfjord to the fjord village of Lofthus. Overnight at the beautifully located Hotel Ullensvang. Buffet dinner included.

Day 7 - Lofthus-Geilo

Fjord cruise to Eidfjord, then excursion by coach to the dramatic Maabodal valley, with the spectacular Voringfoss waterfall.
Upon the return to Eidfjord, the trip continues by fjord cruise to the scenic fjord village of Ulvik, then bus to the train station at Voss. Train to Geilo via the scenic Hardangervidda National Park.

Overnight at the Historic Dr Holm's hotel. Dinner included

Day 8 - Geilo-Oslo

Late morning train to Oslo. Overnight at the centrally located Hotel Bristol as per day 1.
