Day 1 - Bergen

Enjoy a full day to explore the picturesque coastal town of Bergen

 

Some sights in Bergen:

The old Bryggen wharf (UNESCO World Heritage site), the Fish market, the Funicular to mount Floyen, the Aquarium, the picturesque areas of authentic, wooden houses & narrow streets (at the Nordnes peninsula & the hillside behind the Funicular station)

Day 2 - Bergen-Balestrand

Fjord cruise: Enjoy the express steamer cruise along the scenic coast line to the Sognefjord and the beautiful fjord village of Balestrand, passing through narrow straits, islands & skerries and tiny fjord villages.

Spend 2 nights at the beautifully located historic Kvikne's hotel (option A), room with fjord view. Excellent buffet dinner included.

The tiny, English church, the typical Swiss style wooden villas, the scenic Cultural trail, the tiny aquarium, Art galleries

Day 3 - Fjaerlandsfjord & Glacier excursion

Ferry cruise to the scenic Fjaerlandsfjord branch, with connecting bus to the glacier arms of the Jostedal glacier and a visit to the interesting Glacier Museum in Fjaerland.

Day 4 - Balestrand-Flam Railway-Oslo

Enjoy the express steamer cruise to the inner parts of the Sognefjord and the fjord village of Flam, where you change to the famous Flam Railway, taking you through the scenic Flam valley with rivers and waterfalls, to the mountain station of Myrdal.

 

Change to the main Bergen line across the Hardangervidda mountain plateau and National Park to Oslo, with late evening arrival.

Spend 1 night in Oslo
