Itinerary:

Day 1 - Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo. Check in at the centrally located Bristol hotel.

You can take the SAS airport bus directly to the hotel.

Day 2 - Gudbrandsdalen valley

Pick up the rental car, drive to the Olympic town of Lillehammer, then through the scenic Gudbrandsdalen valley to the historic Fefor mountain lodge hotel at Vinstra.

Day 3 - The Golden Route

To Dombas, and  through the Romsdal valley with  dramatic mountain peaks. From the fjord village of Andalsnes across the famous "Golden Route"  - with the Trollstigen hairpin road and the Eagles road - to the fjord village of Geiranger. 1 night at the beautifully located Union Hotel.

Day 4 - Geirangerfjord-Nordfjord

Start  with a 1 hour car ferry cruise on the Geirangerfjord, then via the beautiful inner parts of the Nordfjord and along the scenic lake Joelster. Continue across the Gaularfjell mountain road to the Sognefjord and the beautiful fjord village of Balestrand.

Spend 1 night at the Kvikne's hotel, with their famous dinner buffet in the evening.

Day 5 - Naeroyfjord cruise-Bergen

Drive along the northern side of the Sognefjord before you enjoy the 2 hour car ferry cruise on the dramatic Naeroyfjord branch (the narrow fjord) to the fjord village of Gudvangen. Driving through the Gudvangen valley you can make a detour to the Stalheimskleiven hairpin road, offering a marvellous view of the Stalheim canyon. Continue via the mountain village of Voss to Bergen. 2 nights in Bergen.

 

Some sights in Bergen:

The old Bryggen wharf, the Funicular to mount Floyen, the Fish market, the Aquarium, Edvard Grieg's home, the authentic areas with tiny, wooden houses

Day 6 - Bergen

Spend a relaxing day exploring the main sights of Bergen - the old Bryggen wharf, the Fish market, take the Funicular to the top of mount Floyen, offering you a marvelous view of the city and the surrounding fjords and islands.

Day 7 - Bergen-Hardangerfjord

Drive through local fjord and mountain areas to the scenic Hardangerfjord. Enjoy the car ferry cruise on the fjord before you continue to the scenic fjord village of Lofthus. Spend 1 night at the beautifully located Hotel Ullensvang in room with fjord view & their marvelous dinner buffet.

Day 8 - Hardangerfjord-Telemark

Continue to the inner part of the Hardangerfjord, then across the scenic mountain area of Haukeli to the beautiful county of Telemark for an overnight stay at the wooden historic Dalen hotel.

Day 9 - Telemark-Oslo

Continue through Telemark to Oslo. Overnight in central Oslo or at an airport hotel at your choice.
