Arctic Fjords & Coastal Highlights - 7 nights

This is an amazing Arctic Cruise package starting in Oslo, with 4 nights cruise from Tromso to Bergen, Arctic highlights such as the spectacular Trollfjord, the narrow Raftsund strait, coach trip across the beautiful Lofoten Islands and cruise along the unforgettable Helgeland coast. You will see historic Trondheim, the scenic western coast and the spectacular Atlantic Ocean road.
En route from Bergen to Oslo we have included the "Norway in a Nutshell" fjord tour, with fjord cruise on the UNESCO Naeroyfjord, the Flam Railway and the Bergen line.

Day 1 - Overnight in Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo. Overnight at an airport hotel or in the centre of Oslo. The centre of Oslo is located only 20 minutes from the airport if you take the Airport express train (Flytoget).

Day 2 - Flight Oslo-Tromso

2 hour flight to Tromso: The Arctic town of Tromso is beautifully located surrounded by islands, fjords & mountain peaks. It is the world's northernmost University town.

Cruise departure: board the authentic Hurtigruten ship just before midnight for a really unforgettable 4 nights cruise to Bergen.

 

All meals included during the cruise (Buffet breakfast, buffet lunch & 3 course dinner).

Day 3 - Arctic highlights

You will experience some of the most spectacular parts of the Arctic coast - the narrow Risoyrenna & Raftsund, and then the truly breathtaking narrow Trollfjord (depends on weather conditions). The Trollfjord is only 3 kms long, and only 70 ms wide at the entrance, so it is hard to believe that the big ship can manage to turn around!

The ship reaches the beautiful Lofoten Islands in the early evening, with spectacular mountain peaks & tiny fishing settlements. 
We have included the land excursion by coach across these beautiful, unforgettable islands, rejoining the ship at Stamsund.

Day 4 - The Helgeland coast

Make sure to get up early for this mornings early call at the village of Ornes, surrounded by dramatic Arctic scenery with views of the spectacular Svartisen glacier. The Helgeland coast is known for its remarkable beauty with unique mountain formations, islands & the Arctic Circle.

Day 5 - Trondheim

Early arrival to the picturesque historic city of Trondheim, with time to explore the highlights of the city and stroll around in the areas with well preserved, tiny wooden houses, like Bakklandet and the Dronningsgate street.
Optional: land excursion in Trondheim and the medieval Nidaros Cathedral

Departing Trondheim with the historic Munkholmen island, cruising along the beautiful western coast, with call at the coastal town of Kristiansund, where you join the land excursion taking you across the spectacular, extraordinary Atlantic Ocean road

Day 6 - Arrival to Bergen

Arrival to Bergen at 14:30, check in at your centrally located hotel. Spend 1 night in this picturesque, colourful city with the UNESCO Bryggen wharf, the hillsides and Nordnes peninsula with authentic, tiny, wooden houses and narrow streets, the Funicular to mount Floyen, the Aquarium.
Optional: add a 3 hour fjord cruise from Bergen to Mostraumen & an additional night in Bergen

Day 7 - Bergen - Oslo

Starting by morning train to Voss, then a conneting coach takes you to the Gudvangen fjord village via the spectacular Stalheim canyon and the breathtaking Stalheimskleiven hairpin road.

 

In Gudvangen you board the ferry for a 2 hour Fjord cruise on the amazing, narrow Naeroyfjord (UNESCO site) and the Aurlandsfjord branches of the main Sognefjord. Disembark in Flam village.

 

Change to the famous Flam Railway - an unforgettable 1 hour ride through stunning scenery, with waterfalls, rivers and mountain peaks. At Myrdal mountain station you join the main Bergen line, across the scenic Hardangervidda mountain plateau to Oslo.
